The seminar research is a team research on our tasked topic: Culture. In this research, we discussed about how has culture affected design in the local context with the 3 main categories.
GENTRIFICATION
Is the displacement of a lower-income community in order to make space for the middle and upper class
LOSS (TRADITION)
Is the lack of passing down of certain recipes
FUSION
Is how food is the network/connection between people
One can literally “taste” the past from the comforts of the“present””
“It is the sensorial experience of food that endures in one’s memory bank, long after the context in which it is consumed disappears”
Eating behaviour is strongly influenced by social context.
“The conservation of buildings is meaningless if the lifestyles, trades & crafts they house are not preserved”
