Before studying this entry, my thoughts on an arcade is a just a glass shelter over the mall to provide shelter from the rain while having not much thoughts on retail galleries. Today, I am more aware of its functions and purposes. Much as the glass roofs, shop windows and doors are mostly made from large glass that reflects openness and spaciousness and at the same time for consumers to look at the store and the what is inside. This influences the measures of productivity of the shops. The architecture style was so appreciated by the public for its protection from the weather, noise and filth of the streets that it was increasingly built even up to today. I could make use of this information for my retail project with the use of many glass windows and bringing maximum sunlight into the space, without hassling about the bad lighting, enhancing the shopping experience.
